THREAT INTELLIGENCE
Within the cyber security community, classified intelligence is called closed source (CSINT), while information publicly available is considered open source (OSINT). A holistic computer network defense strategy will leverage intelligence from both OSINT and CSINT, which focus on gathering actionable information about a past or potential threat. In order to effectively defend a network against attacks from all areas, both OSINT and CSINT must be utilized.
